Date Range & Activity 2 is a sophisticated criteria response type which must be installed from the store. It is free to use.
It has been designed to collect information from a target which can then be verified by a third party from outside of your organisation. Therefore it is widely used as a referencing tool for occupational and/or educational history.
There are 3 types of individual who will complete parts of this criteria. These are:
- the target - usually an applicant or candidate whose references are being checked
- a system user - usually the target's patron
- the referee - usually set up as a 1-time completion target. This will avoid Account Activation emails from being sent to the referees as they should not have to login to complete the reference
Before you can complete the setup in the Store, you will need to prepare the following:
- Referee target groups. You can create one or numerous groups depending on the data you wish to collect from the applicant about the referee
For instance, if you wish to collect information about Employment, you would probably want fields for "Company Name", "Referee's Position", "Reason for Leaving", etc.
If you wish to collect information about Education, you will probably want fields for "Educational Establishment", "Qualification Achieved", etc
You will also need to consider what Activity Types you wish to allow the target to select for the referencing period eg as mentioned above Employment and Education, possibly Unemployed, Sabbatical, Maternity/Paternity Leave, etc.
And finally, you should consider what evidence documents may be acceptable if a reference for a certain period cannot be obtained.
Other objects which will need to be considered are:
- Message Templates to be used to request specific references and or to be used in the chase cycle to remind referees about the reference request
- Document Templates to be attached to reference request emails which may be a reference form
When you install the Date Range & Activity criteria it comes with default message templates but these are pretty basic and you will probably want to embellish them.
