There are 3 target types in autologyx: Person, Thing and Relational.
Relational target groups are used to bring together target groups of the person and thing types.
By allowing these “Child” target groups to be held in the “Parent” relational group you can access and use all the information held about those child target groups at the same time. You can also assign specific tasks to each of the child targets in the same sequence.
In Recruitment and HR, a placement would be a relational target because you need the information contained in the candidate (person), the vacancy (thing) and if you are a Recruitment Agency, the client (person) target groups for generating contracts or assignment schedules, etc. The relationship could be 1:1 ie one candidate to one vacancy/client or 1:many ie several candidates to one vacancy/client.
In the Legal industry, a "Client File" could be a relational target with the client (person) and instruction/matter (thing) being the child target groups. This relationship would normally start as 1:1 ie one client with one instruction but it is likely that it would change over time to 1:many as additional requirements from the client were taken on. The relationship could feature additional child target groups such as "Opposing legal firm" and/or "Court" if for example the matter was contentious.
