Merging Field Data in a Relational Target Group

Field data from both the relational target and child targets can be merged into document and message templates and into criteria instructions, etc.

However, the level set up Variant as described in the article "Level Completion in a Relationship" must be considered when inserting the merge field.

See knowledgebase article entitled, “How to merge field data into templates” for a more detailed explanation. However, in simple terms, if you want to merge child target data:

• When level Variant is “For each relationship, merge via the relational target group

• When level Variant is “Once by Completer and shared with relationship” or “Once by Completer, not shared with relationship”, merge direct from the child target group

In the examples shown above:

• Placement is the Relational Target Group
• Candidate Std is the Child Target Group
